Reizen/migratie: Op 13-jarige leeftijd verhuisde ze met haar familie naar Atlanta, Georgia. Deze verhuizing bracht haar in een omgeving waar de raciale verhoudingen duidelijk zichtbaar waren, wat haar bewustzijn en latere artistieke thema's beïnvloedde.
