He took a total of seven voyages and stayed home for 15 years all in a duration of 28 years

Effects on natives: During his voyages, Zheng He didn’t take slaves, but instead travelled around for more of a business. One examples of this is when he got into a war with a small kingdom and won, bringing the king and his family back to China.

He also conquered Ceylon and defeated the king Alagenakkara’s troops, in addition to having countries like

Champa (now southern Vietnam, Siam (Thailand), and Malacca (Melaka) pay money to China

Impacts on sponsoring country: Ibn Battuta wrote a book explaining his travel routes, which helped other travelers and made him famous.

Effects on natives: Ibn Battuta had a big effect on India, where he stayed for a couple of years. He was made a judge in Delhi by the Sultan and controlled the tax collection and the punishments given out. Also, he traveled to all the major Islamic sites and helped spread Islamic belief.

His book of his travels was made international by French and English scholars, and made people who read it want to explore and leave their normal, boring lives for adventure.
